James Milner moves up to joint second in the Premier League’s all-time appearance charts

<p>James Milner, who started for Brighton & Hove Albion against West Ham United on Tuesday night, is now tied for second place in the Premier League’s all-time appearance rankings.</p>

<p>After joining Brighton on a free transfer from Liverpool last summer, the 37-year-old even the score with Ryan Giggs in his 632nd game in the league.</p>
<p>At the age of sixteen, Milner made his Premier League debut on November 10, 2002, coming in as a replacement against West Ham. According to the Premier League website, it made him the second-youngest player to play in the league at the time.</p>

<p>On Boxing Day of the same year, he scored in a 2-1 win against Sunderland, making history as the youngest goalscorer in Premier League history at the age of 16 years and 309 days.</p>
<p>After that, the midfielder played for Aston Villa (2008–2010), Manchester City (2010–2015), Liverpool (2015–2023), and Newcastle United (2004–2008).</p>
<p>After making his debut on Tuesday, he is only 20 games away from matching the mark of 652, which was achieved by former Villa teammate Gareth Barry.</p>
<p>With only 18 games remaining for Brighton, Milner is unable to surpass the record this season.</p>
